Crime in Clairemont

A man armed with a handgun robbed the Golden Lion AM/PM in Clairemont Thursday night, police said.

The robber entered the store on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, near Genesee Avenue, about 10:20 p.m., displayed the gun and demanded cash from an employee, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The man got into a brown four-door sedan, and a driver took off west on Clairemont Mesa.

The robber was described as Latino, heavyset, and wearing a dark hoodie and something covering his face. No description of the driver was available.

No one was injured.
