Clairemont Chamber of Commerce Business Networking Mixer at Kumon Math & Reading Center
The Clairemont Chamber of Commerce held a Business Networking Mixer on Valentine’s Day at Kumon Math & Reading Center located at 3582 Mount Acadia Blvd. Suite A.
Chamber members and guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks donated by Clairemont’s own Sweet & Savory Gourmet, located a few doors down from Kumon at 3574 Mt. Acadia Blvd. Everyone in turn introduced their business to the group, and then all learned much more about Kumon Math & Reading Centers from our gracious hosts, Neil and Kristin Singh.
The Chamber thanks Kumon Math & Reading Center for hosting a successful business mixer benefitting Clairemont area business persons and guests.
Clairemont Chamber mixers are terrific opportunities for Clairemont businesses to showcase their offerings while learning about other Clairemont area opportunities for goods and services. To learn more about the Greater Clairemont Chamber of Commerce, visit our website at www.clairemontchamber.com , or call for more information at (858) 634-0291. We encourage all Chamber members and other Clairemont area business persons to attend our next Networking Mixer to be held March 13th, hosted by Sean Manatt’s Edward Jones office.

Now Open in Bay Park: Caffe Vicino
Dan and Cheryl McCarthy, longtime business owners in Bay Park, have opened a new neighborhood coffee shop named Caffe Vicino at 2615 Denver St. , at the intersection of Denver and Ingulf Streets.
“Vicino means neighbor in Italian and that is what we want to be, “says Cheryl.
The shop opened at the end of December and offers space to relax or work (they have free wifi), listen to some music, and drink some amazing espresso, coffee drinks, and teas. Caffe Vicino also serves pastries, sandwiches, healthy snacks, and oatmeal.
The atmosphere is beautiful, featuring a rich red wall adorned with the McCarthy’s collection of photos from their trips to Italy. Despite their Irish name, the two have a rich Italian heritage from their mothers on both sides.
Most important to the McCarthy's is the quality of their product. “We decided to provide the “micro-roasted” (small scale) coffee from the popular Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in La Jolla. We liked the fact that their coffee is roasted fresh daily on the premises and that it is Fair Trade and mostly organic. Above all, we loved the flavor! Coincidentally, Bird Rock just won the national "2012 Roaster of the Year" according to Roast Magazine, so we are serving ‘award winning coffee’ every day,,” Cheryl said with a smile. “We love hearing comments that our coffee is the best they have ever tasted.”
Locals are discovering Caffe Vicino as a great place to have a small meeting for business or with friends. Caffe Vicino is conveniently located at the intersection of Denver and Ingulf Streets only a half block south of Clairemont Drive and two blocks north of Morena Blvd. They have designated parking for easy in and out. Stop by soon and meet the friendly baristas at Caffe Vicino!
