Clairemont Teens Rock the “House”
By Anthony Le Calvez
Wow, what a treat to see local band The Incentive entertain a crowd of 200 people at the House of Blues! The young, talented group plays original songs and is the newest thing on the San Diego music scene.
The Incentive are Anthony Le Calvez on lead vocals and lead guitar, Sloan Quessenberry on bass, David Berard on keyboard, Collin Seaman on drums, and Tim Notestine on backup guitar and saxophone. Collin, Sloan and Anthony are proud Clairemont inhabitants and the band practices near the Balboa Branch library in Clairemont.
Though they have been playing for only 6 months, after they played their first gig in North Park they were invited to play at the House of Blues in downtown San Diego. They play primarily soft rock and indie rock. The boys are greatly inspired by bands Coldplay, U2, and Pink Floyd.
Every Sunday these devoted kids are practicing, rocking out and enjoying their music. They are hoping to get signed by a record producer and will keep playing shows until they are signed. They hope to reach worldwide fame, as do most bands.
The Incentive is a motivated young band and we wish them best of luck with their musical career. What a great way to celebrate music! If you are interested in hearing the band play, or contacting them check out The Incentive on Facebook or send email to the.incentive.band@gmail.com .
