Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Crackdown

Sheriff's Deputies will be in out in force starting today through Labor Day for the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign. The goal of this stepped up operation is to save lives.

The San Diego County Sheriff will have checkpoints and DUI patrols in our contract cities. High visibility enforcement make a huge difference in increasing public awareness of the deadly consequences of impaired driving.

The end of summer shouldn't mean the end of your life. Drunk driving is no accident, it's a serious crime. It's not worth the risk of killing or injuring yourself or someone else. If we catch you driving impaired, you will be arrested. No excuses.

Help us spread the word and save lives. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. Be a designated driver for someone. If you see a drunk driver on the road, call 911.

DUI/Driver License Checkpoints are scheduled on:
•August 17 – 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. – San Marcos, Encinitas and Santee
•August 18 – 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. – Lemon Grove (AVOID)
