Birthline, a non-profit based in Clairemont that assists pregnant women and mothers with small children, is currently seeking toy donations for its annual Christmas basket drive.
The all-volunteer group needs unwrapped toys for children ranging from newborns to 12 years of age. Last year, Santa & volunteers handed out 76 Christmas baskets to local at-need families, reaching more than 250 children.
Birthline assists approximately 1,600 women annually with a range of free pregnancy and childcare services including support counseling, diapers, formula, and medical care referrals. This year, the organization has helped more homeless women than ever before.
Donations can be dropped off weekdays from 10am-1pm at the Birthline office located on 3660 Clairemont Drive, Suite 4. Hours are extended for Monday evenings from 5pm-8pm, and Thursdays until 4pm.The last day for donations is December 7th.
Executive director Mary Pat Warner is available to answer questions via email at birthline@sbcglobal.net.
