Madison Warhawks in State Bowl Saturday

From this week's Madison Warhawk Whisper:

GO WARHAWKS!!
Madison High School Warhawks made history last week in their win over Monrovia High School (21 to 17) in the CIF Regional State Bowl game. The team advances to the State Bowl against Marin Catholic on Saturday, December 15, 12 pm, at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

Tickets are available at Madison High School in the Finance Office until 1 pm Friday Dec. 14th. Ticket prices are $10 for children, students and senior citizens; $15 adult and $20 for spirit bus (available only to Madison students and their families and includes a ticket to the game.).

Madison is the only team in the history of San Diego Unified to play in the State Bowl games. This is the
second time since 2010 that the team has advanced to the State Bowl after winning their CIF Division. Rick Jackson, head coach, said, “This is an outstanding team that has come together this year to make Madison history. The state game will be tough and we are ready for it.”

Richard Nash, principal, said, “The Warhawks have represented Madison well this year and have made
the school very proud. They have distinguished themselves as champion athletes and left their mark in the
school’s 50-year history.”

The Warhawks finished their regular season as CIF Division IV Champions for southern California and
have earned previous distinctions for their athletic accomplishments, including Rick Jackson being
cited as 2009 CIF Coach of the Year for all divisions. Madison has sent many players into the NCAA Division I ranks, including Fresno State’s Robbie Rouse.
