Better Business Bureau Offers Free Online Job Listings

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of San Diego and Imperial Counties announces the release of the Accredited Business Job Listings, a new online feature that allows consumers to find employment with ethical businesses that have been vetted by the BBB.

While many of the current online job search websites offer a robust list of local, available jobs, they generally do not provide oversight as to what is posted, leaving abundant room for scam artists to insert fake job listings in order to trick consumers.

“We’re proud to offer Accredited Business Job Listings to the community,” said BBB President/CEO Sheryl Bilbrey. “It’s our goal to keep San Diego scam free. We hope that this will keep consumers safe from falling victim to a job scam, which has been on the radar of the BBB for several years now.” The BBB’s new Accredited Business Job Listings give consumers insight into local jobs that have recently become available, but also gives them the peace of mind in knowing that the jobs they find on the BBB website are not only legitimate, but being offered by companies who meet all of the BBB’s stringent standards for Accreditation.

The BBB not only assesses each listing before it is posted to the public, but evaluates and accredits each business that posts a job through the Accredited Business Job Listings.

“Employees who understand the importance of ethics are an asset to businesses, just as companies that put trust, honesty and integrity at a premium are desirable to job seekers,” added Bilbrey. “We’re pleased to have added another tool to connect our honorable Accredited Businesses with consumers in the community.”

Much like the BBB’s Accredited Businesses, the Job Listings posted to the BBB website’s job board are diverse in industry, occupation and salary. Whether the searcher is a recent college graduate, a seasoned assistant or a skilled tradesman, the BBB has a job listing that will fit your needs.

The BBB’s Accredited Business Job Listings are free to consumers, and offered exclusively through the San Diego BBB website. To find a job from one of the BBB’s Accredited Businesses, visit www.bbb.org/san-diego/jobs/.

The non-profit organization Better Business Bureau of San Diego and Imperial Counties opened in 1921, and is San Diego’s largest county-wide business membership organization with more than 6,400 accredited businesses and charities. The BBB provides free pre-purchase information and advice to consumers. Its website is viewed over 7,700 per day, and houses business reviews on more than 50,000 local companies. Before buying decisions are made, consumers are encouraged to phone the BBB's free 24-hour Consumer Helpline at (858) 496-2131, or visit the website at bbb.org, to obtain free pre-purchase information and a list of BBB Accredited Businesses by type of industry.
