Toler Elementary School to Host Family/Community Literacy Night
Toler Elementary , 3350 Baker St., is hosting a night for students, families and community members to come together and celebrate literature on January 31st from 5:30-7:30pm. The featured speaker is Kathleen Krull, author of many acclaimed biographies for young readers, including "The Boy on Fairfield Street: How Ted Geisel Grew Up to Become Dr. Seuss," the "Lives of" series, and the brand-new "The Beatles: They Were Fab—and They Were Funny." In addition, the Clairemont High School Theatre group will present a production based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Toler's partner in education, the Clairemont Public Library, will be represented and there will be a Used Book Sale to benefit the Toler Library. The 5th grade students will be selling pizza starting at 5:30. There will also be a raffle to win prizes and there will be giveaways for all who attend.
