They got off to a hot start upsetting a number of elite teams early in the season including a dramatic victory over the USC Trojans who were ranked #1 in the country at the time. The Toreros have been ranked as high as #2 in the country during the season, the highest national ranking by any team in USD history. Since West Coast Conference play started the Toreros have not slowed down and are currently riding an impressive 14 match winning streak.
This has set up one of the biggest matches of the year as the Toreros host the #21 ranked BYU Cougars in their regular season finale this Saturday November 23rd at 1pm in the friendly confines of the Jenny Craig Pavilion on the University of San Diego campus. The Cougars and Toreros are currently tied for first place in the conference setting up an exciting winner take all finale on Saturday to decide who claims the WCC Championship. It is sure to be one of the most exciting matches of the season with everything on the line.
If you have not caught the Toreros in action this season now is the time! We need your help to pack the house as we look to cage the Cougars! Everything on Saturday is free! Free admission, free parking, free giveaways, some free food, a free postgame autograph session, and more! You can also enter to win $10,000 in the Wells Fargo Race for the Ace Contest and instead of charging admission we will be collecting donations to help the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.
