Sewing for Jr. Makers: Arnold the Sock Puppet (ages 8-15 ONLY)

MakerPlace is offering a class this Saturday March 1, 2014 for kids ages 8-15 in their craft room located at 1022 W. Morena Blvd,  San Diego, CA 92110

Class time is 9:30am-1pm.

This class is intended to teach introductory sewing skills to young makers while adding an appreciation of repurposing materials.

Students will have the opportunity to repurpose materials to create their own sock puppet and complete their project using a mini electric sewing machine. Throughout the course, the instructor will cover basic sewing techniques as well as how to properly and safely operate the sewing machines.

A $10 material fee covers the materials needed for the project. Mini electric sewing machines will be provided for each student during the class. Students should bring in an unwanted sock for the class.
