Update from District 6

Lorie Zapf
Hello Clairemont!

In February one of our Councilmembers was elected Mayor to finish out Bob Filner’s term. Many of you have asked who will replace Mr. Faulconer as the District 2 Clairemont representative. While we don’t know yet who that person will be, we do know that they will be appointed by the City Council during a public meeting. This must happen within 30 days after Mayor-elect Faulconer is sworn into office and after the District 2 office is vacated.

I don’t want anyone to think that they don’t have representation at City Hall, so in the meantime, I am making my staff available to handle any issues that come up in Clairemont until the appointed Councilmember has their office up and running. If you have any city-related issue, including potholes, Code Compliance questions, or service requests, please contact my office at (619) 236-6616 or loriezapf@sandiego.gov .

The City of San Diego is currently receiving submissions for the 2014 San Diegans Waste No Water Student Film Contest. This is open to high school and college students from San Diego, Imperial Beach, and Coronado. It challenges entrants to create a 30-second film that encourages wise water use, conservation, and water-reuse. If you are a student who is creative, interested in sustainability, and would like to have your short film seen by thousands of people, this is your chance. All the information is available online, just log on to www.wastenowater.org to find out how you could see your film in theatres this summer.
