Voting is Now Open for San Diego’s School Volunteer of the Year!

DonorNation, the online marketplace with a heart, is excited to announce that the voting period for the second annual School Volunteer of the Year is now open! DonorNation’s School Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes and celebrates extraordinary school volunteers in San Diego.
DonorNation is pleased to host the
2013-14 School Volunteer of the Year Award.

Clairemont is proud to have nominees from:

  • Alcott Elementary
  • Holmes Elementary
  • Marston Middle
  • Clairemont High School

From now through April 24, the public is invited to vote for San Diego’s School Volunteer of the Year at www.donornation.org/award/vote. With over 280 nominees vying for San Diego’s top school volunteer honor of the year, public voting will help select top candidates from each of the three categories based on each school’s student population. The School Volunteer of the Year Award categories include:

·       Category 1: Schools with 400 enrolled students or less

·       Category 2: Schools with 401-750 enrolled students

·       Category 3: Schools with more than 750 enrolled students.

The top 10 finalists in each category resulting from the public voting phase will advance to the Selection Committee on the week of April 28. The Selection Committee is comprised of seven prominent leaders in the San Diego community who will vet all 30 of the finalists and select one Grand Prize Winner, one First Runner-Up and one Second Runner-Up, based on the candidate’s nomination submission information.

Here is a list of the awards and prizes:

  • Grand Prize Winner: The 2014 School Volunteer of the Year will receive a $5,000 donation for their school, one year of free groceries ($100 per week for 52 weeks) courtesy of Sprouts, and free season tickets to the La Jolla Playhouse.
  • First Runner-Up: The 2014 School Volunteer of the Year Runner-Up will receive a $2,500 donation for their school, six months of free groceries ($100 per week for 26 weeks) courtesy of Sprouts, and free season tickets to the La Jolla Playhouse.
