Trolley Station Design Workshop on Monday

Hopefully everyone in Clairemont and Bay Park knows by now the trolley line will be extended along Morena Boulevard on its way up to UCSD and UTC.

There will be three stations in our neighborhood on Morena: at Tecolote Road, at Clairemont Drive and at Balboa Avenue.

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is in the process of designing the nine Trolley stations along the route. They have been holding workshops for the public to provide input regarding design features of the stations.

Not surprisingly, these workshops have been well-attended by people who are not happy about aspects of the project and proposed surrounding redevelopment. There are some that reject the idea of any trolley stops in the neighborhood, while others are concerned about increased density in the area around the new stops.

There are two more workshops scheduled. The first is this coming Monday, July 28th. If you are interested in providing input regarding the trolley stations at Tecolote, Clairemont Dr. and Balboa this is your opportunity.
