Tickets on sale now for the 50th anniversary celebration, Oct. 3rd
Calling all Olympians! San Diego Mesa College invites alumni, current and former students, retirees, staff and friends to attend an event showcasing student talent and celebrating 50 years of student success. Celebration on the Mesa will be held Friday, Oct. 3, at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and available at celebrationonthemesa.eventbrite.com.
Do you have a fond – or funny – memory of your time on the mesa? The college is also looking for memorable stories from current and former students, staff and retirees to showcase during the event. And it could get you two free tickets.
All memory submission(s) in each of five categories will be entered for a chance to win two free tickets to the “Celebration on the Mesa” event on October 3.
It’s easy to enter. Just pick a category -- funniest story; most romantic story, life-changing experience
story, classroom experience story and oldest story (dating back to the college’s first year in 1964, or earlier when classes were held at Kearny High School) – and send it via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can submit more than one story; one winner in each category will be randomly selected to receive two free vouchers for the event.
Remembrances will also be posted on a memory wall during the Oct. 3 event.
Celebration on the Mesa – held outdoors along the Mesa promenade -- will showcase student accomplishments, with entertainment provided by student dancers, musicians, the speech and debate team, fashion and performing artists. Culinary students will also be on-hand to prepare and serve heavy hors d'oeuvres. A silent auction will be held benefiting student programs and emergency services.
It will also be an opportunity for attendees to check out the College’s new, state-of-the-art facilities and witness its advancement after $450 million of changes from voter-supported Propositions S and N construction bonds.
Tickets can be purchased at www.celebrationonthemesa.eventbrite.com. For more information, contact Anne Zacovic at 619-388-2285.
