Water-Saving Superstars Wanted! Enter by Nov. 4th

The San Diego County Water Authority wants to thank Water-Saving Superstars with the chance to win several great prizes, including a pair of round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines.

Anyone can be a Water-Saving Superstar!

Are you replacing your lawn with a WaterSmart landscape? Did you upgrade to water-efficient appliances? Do you remind your neighbors to follow local water-use restrictions? Are you reusing water in creative ways around your home? The Water Authority wants to know! Tell us any little tidbit of information that will help highlight actions you have taken to save water.

Every drop counts and everyone's contributions - big or small - add up and will help us get through the drought. Your efforts could inspire others to save more water, which we need to do if 2015 is a fourth consecutive dry year.

Everyone who shares a water conservation story could win prizes generously donated by the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, Armstrong Garden Centers, Mission Hills Nursery, Walter Andersen Nursery, San Diego State Athletics, and Body Beautiful Car Wash.

U-T San Diego, in partnership with the Water Authority, will feature six of the most inspirational Water-Saving Superstar stories in online videos. The person who provides the most motivating story reflecting the theme “saving every day, every way” will win two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines to any of its domestic destinations, including Puerto Rico.

Between until Nov. 4, county residents 18 years old and older can enter the promotion by visiting the Water Authority’s “When in Drought” website at www.whenindrought.org and sharing their water-saving story in 200 words or less using UT San Diego’s online form. Photos can be included. Full promotion rules and details are available at the website.
