K-Co Celebrates! 19-Year-Old Clairemont Company Recognized for Ethics

K-Co Construction, Inc. is celebrating this month. On December 2nd the Clairemont-based remodeling company was awarded a Finalist trophy in the Better Business Bureau's Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics competition.

It's the 5th time they have been named a Finalist; K-Co has also won 4 times locally and once at the International Torch Awards.

"We are going to have to add another shelf to our awards display!" said company owner Chad Gardner with a laugh. "Seriously, we are very proud to be recognized for ethical business operations, especially in an industry that has a somewhat negative reputation."

K-Co is also celebrating 19 years in business in Clairemont. The company was founded by Dave Konstantin, Chad's stepfather, and has employed three generations of the family over the years.  Many people in Clairemont and Bay Park are familiar with the company, not just for its hundreds of remodeling projects in the neighborhood, but because they have volunteered alongside K-Co management and employees on community projects.

"Dave set the example for all of us by serving as Clairemont Town Council president more than ten years ago. Volunteering and supporting local non-profit organizations have been part of our company culture ever since," said Chad. "I have lived in Clairemont my whole life and I will raise my daughter here too. I'm invested in Clairemont in every way, and am proud to have the ability to give back to the community that has been so good to K-Co."
