D6 Night Market This Weekend: Free, Family-Friendly, Fun, Festive!

The first-ever D6 Night Market will be held on Saturday, May 30 from 4:00pm to 10:00pm at the Mira Mesa Community Park and will include an array of mouth-watering food for sale, exciting live entertainment, cultural programs for all ages and endless opportunities for families and friends to mingle and relax.

More social event than shopping trip, a night market is a blend of sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. Night markets, which are a popular tradition throughout Asia and other parts of the world, are an open-air casual social gathering and fill a need for civic community. They are a chance to leisurely stroll, shop, and eat while enjoying the excitement and pleasure that comes from being part of a festive crowd.

“D6” refers to the six great neighborhoods that make up San Diego City Council District 6, perhaps the most culturally diverse district in San Diego: Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, Miramar, Mira Mesa, Park Village and Sorrento Valley.

This event will have all the elements of a successful night market including a mix of food and beverage stands, vendors, and entertainment. In addition, we are excited that D6 Night Market will feature several new innovations:

• A “Village of Neighborhoods” where each D6 neighborhood can showcase their youth activities, opportunities for adult volunteerism, and places of worship.
• Special activities for seniors at the Mira Mesa Senior Center
• A food truck gathering
• A coffee/tea garden, a beer garden, and a wine garden
• And much more!

Please join us for this free, family-friendly, fun, festive event!

The D6 Night Market is presented and hosted by the Alliance for Quality Education, the Mira Mesa Chamber of Commerce, and the D6 Night Market Team.  It is supported by the City of San Diego and the County of San Diego.
