The Clairemont Chamber of Commerce held their June event this week, hosted by Janet Poutré, publisher of the Clairemont Community News, at the Live Well Senior Center.

Chamber members and their guests sipped wine or soda and enjoyed turkey and Swiss high roller sandwiches, deviled eggs (very popular!), and their choice of chips or Fritos as they got to know each other.  The bag of mini candy bars was also a hit.

President Mark Forsythe welcomed everyone and shared a few announcements.  July 3rd will be Clairemont Day at the San Diego County Fair and several Chamber members will be representing their companies there that day.  Also the annual Clairemont Family Day is coming up on August 1st., and Chamber members were encouraged to volunteer some time at the Chamber booth.  If you or your company is interested in participating please contact Mark  Forsythe at president@clairemontchamber.com.

With announcements out of the way, each person took a minute or two to introduce themselves and their company to the group.  It was an eclectic assortment of professions and industries: real estate, medicine, hospitality, IT, to name a few.

Then host and Chamber Past President Janet PoutrĂ© gave a presentation on her "Top 5 Tech Tools and Tips" from San Diego author and  "Your Nerdy Best Friend" Beth Ziesenis' book "Release Your Inner Nerd".  She shared free and low cost tools for managing time, relationships with customers and even how to get the exact color you want for your ad text. Those in attendance had a chance to win the book in a business card drawing at the end of the evening.

The Clairemont Chamber is the business association for owners and managers of businesses in Clairemont. Mixers are held the second Tuesday of each month. Locations vary, check the calendar on www.ClairemontChamber.com for details.
