Mission Federal Credit Union Launches Back-to-School Supply Drive
Mission Federal Credit Union, in partnership with SAY San Diego, has launched the Mission Fed Back-to-School Supply Drive to collect school supplies for local elementary students in need.
“Mission Fed believes that every child in San Diego deserves a chance to succeed in school,” said Angie Lasagna, Vice President of Community Relations for Mission Fed. “Yet, many children in San Diego lack basic school supplies, such as backpacks, pencils and even paper, hindering their ability to learn in the classroom. With the community’s help, we can make a difference.”
Throughout the month of August, Mission Fed will be collecting backpacks and school supplies at all of its branches. The goal is to fill 700 backpacks for children who attend local Title I elementary schools, but may not have enough money for school supplies, clothes or lunches. In addition, Mission Fed is donating $2,000, and Quill.com, an office supplies e-tailer, is matching the donation.
