Clairemont Artist Wins Two Awards

"Pavilion With Cast Shadows"
Krentz Johnson, an artist and resident of Clairemont has two award-winning paintings in the highly competitive March Members' exhibit at The San Diego Watercolor Society.

Her painting titled “November Pavilion“ received an Honorable Mention while her second painting, titled “Pavilion With Cast Shadows“ was awarded 3rd place.  Krentz’s paintings were given the honors by award-winning juror Chuck McPherson. According to McPherson, “Pavilion with Cast Shadows” demonstrates an exceptional mix of historical architecture with a contemporary voice.

Krentz Johnson has a B.A. in Fine Arts from San Diego State University 1978, attended the Art Student's League of New York 1980, was the Assistant Gallery Director for Womanart Gallery, New York 1979-81, and Co-founder-Director Cygnus Gallery, San Diego 1982-4. The exhibit will continue at the San Diego Watercolor Society’s gallery through Sunday, March 30.  The gallery is located in the Arts District Liberty Station at 2825 Dewey Road and is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.  The exhibit is free to the public.
