Hunger affects more than homeless people. Hunger is a constant companion of tens of thousands of San Diego’s working poor and unemployed.
Registration begins at 7am. Walk begins at 8am. Each walker will also receive a free ticket for the raffle prizes.
There is no registration fee for the Hunger Walk. Walkers are encouraged to solicit family members, friends, and neighbors to sponsor the walk by making donations to CCSA.
The first 200 walkers to register at www.CCSASANDiego.org will receive a FREE CCSA Reusable Water bottle. There will be a drawing for items generously donated by local businesses including restaurants. The drawing will be held at the end of the walk.
Age: There are no age limits for walkers. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, youth group leader or other responsible adult. The parent must co-sign the registration form.
Dogs: People-friendly dogs are welcome at this family-oriented event. All dogs must be on leashes. We request that you not bring dogs into the congested area around the registration table. Please have someone else tend your dog while you register. City regulations require that dogs not be in the park after 9 am.
Bikes/Skateboards: For safety reasons we request that you leave your bicycles, skateboards and skates at home. Wheelchairs, strollers and wagons are welcome.
CCSA is a nonprofit organization which is supported by thirty member churches, hundreds of individual donors, businesses, and various fundraising efforts.
There are two locations in Clairemont and Pacific Beach which offers food, clothing, hygiene items, and referrals for social services to those in need.
The donations received by CCSA for the Hunger Walk are essential to enable CCSA to provide serves to the many needy persons who come to its doors seeking assistance.
