Reverse Trick or Treat Event: Kids and Shelter Pets!

San Diego Humane Society  is hosting the first-ever Reverse Trick or Treat event on Thursday, Oct. 27. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to make toys and goodies for pets and then deliver their hand-crafted treats to adoptable animals throughout the shelter. Animals will also be available for interaction for children and their parents in need of a fur fix. Join us for this special Halloween Event for kids!

The event takes place from 4-6 pm at our San Diego Campus, 5500 Gaines St. 92110.

4-5 pm: Drop in to our regular weekly Fur Fix to meet animal friends.
5-6 pm: Make treats for our adoptable animals and then reverse trick or treat through the adoption gallery and deliver your treats to the shelter animals.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Children are invited to wear a costume or Halloween colors!
  • $5 suggested donation appreciated.

“Youth events like this one are not only fun for kids, but teach an essential lesson about giving back to our community and the humane treatment of animals,” said Amelia Curtis, education manager for San Diego Humane Society. “Teaching children to value animals not only encourages respect for all living beings, it also establishes a sense of responsibility to make the world a better, more humane place.”
