Call for Plays: One Act Play Festival at Veterans Museum

The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park (VMBP) seeks submissions for its upcoming One Act Play Festival (OAPF).  The purpose of OAPF is to present short plays that highlight various aspects of Veterans’ issues, including (but not limited to) family relationships, health issues, Veteran/civilian relationships, and Veteran reintegration.  We welcome submissions from any playwright regardless of Veteran status.  Selected plays will receive a full staging at the OAPF.  Plays not selected may be considered for future productions.

Deadline: February 17, 2017; playwrights will be notified on or around March 17, 2017

Performance Dates: April 21-23, 2017

Guidelines:
Plays may not exceed 10 minutes in length.  Submissions exceeding the 10 minute time limit will not be considered. Plays should involve 4 or fewer characters if possible.  Plays with minor technical requirements will be given preference.  The subject matter of the plays should in some way address issues related to Veterans, their families, and the relationship of Veterans to the civilian community.
